Even though this apparently was announced in September, it was news to me that the “sponsoring organization, the National Chicken Council, announced in September 2009 that the event was indefinitely suspended because of economic considerations.”
In fact, all of this was news to me. There is a National Chicken Cooking Contest? and a National Chicken Council? Anyway, it is interesting because they still have all of the submitted recipes available in a database that is accessible on their web site. And they sound quite good. Chinese Chicken Burgers with Rainbow Sesame Slaw was the 2009 winner in May! mmm, gonna have to try that one.
