Teriyaki Sauce Recipe for Grilling
Basic recipe for teriyaki sauce for use on the grill
- 1/4 cup Mirin
- 1/4 cup Sake
- 1/4 cup Soy sauce
- 1 1/2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
- 1 clove garlic, minced (optional)
- 1 teaspoon chopped fresh ginger (optional)
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch dissolved in 1/4 cup cold water (optional)
Mix all of the ingredients except the cornstarch and water in a small sauce pan.
Bring ingredients to a simmer over medium heat for 15 minutes.
Slowly, a tablespoon at a time, stir in cornstarch mixture if you want thicker Teriyaki sauce. Only use the amount you need to get it to your desired thickness.
Stir while simmering for another 5 minutes
