This is a great way to grill a whole chicken but sorry folks we don't drink beer. We have however found out that Dr.Pepper and/or Pepsi work just as good, if U don't drink beer that is. Enjoy

I MIX SOME OF MY RUB IN THE BEER AND MICROWAVE IT TILL IT STARTS STEAMING.THEN I RETURN IT TO THE CAN.I ALSO PLUG THE OPENING IN THE CHICKENS NECK WITH A POTATO OR AN ONION.YOU HAVE TO BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN USING THIS METHOD BECAUSE THE BEER CAN WILL BE EXTREMELY HOT.I ALSO INJECT THE BIRD SOMETIMES.WHEN I DO THIS,I WILL USE THE MICROWAVE PROCESS AND MIX SOME OF THE INJECTION JUICE WITH THE BEER.I ALSO USUALLY BUY A SIXPACK OF BEER.ONE FOR THE CHICKEN AND FIVE FOR ME.

I'm with you Brian, I do not totally buy into the effects of beer on the inside of the bird. I expect it's a conspiracy to somehow limit our beer intake. I smell an experiment! Beer can versus empty can chicken!

Hi All!
Here's my input regarding this activity of critical importance...
I see all these recipes calling for folks to only take a swig or so of the beer THEN USE THE REST.

IN MY HUMBLE OPINION, THIS RESULTS IN TWO PROBLEMS:
1) I DON'T BELIEVE the beer DOES warmS up enough to create sufficient evaporation/steam.
2) Some may say "a mind" but I say: Beer is a terrible thing to waste! Why drink a swig or two, when one can drink 8oz. and use the rest on the chicken.

Another aspect that I find confusing:
Many recipes advise to simply pop the top of the beer can, or just add a couple extra holes with a church key.
I ON THE OTHER HAND UTILIZE A CONVENTIONAL CAN OPENER, AND REMOVE THE ENTIRE LID.

FWIW!
